If you are like so many new home business owners that find themselves procrastinating; it may be because they simply don't know where to begin, well I have some advice...Stop It. Continually putting off things that need to get done has a rippling effect, not only on your finances but on your self-esteem.

Sooner or later you're going to feel the effects of your procrastination and it will surly be a much bigger problem then than it is today. Hence it's important that you learn to stop procrastinating and "just do it".

Here are four tips to get you on your way to action.

Write down your tasks daily

You should do this everyday. In your day timer list six tasks that must get done today. If you list anymore than six it will seem overwhelming and you will find yourself staring at your list not know where to begin.

And do those six tasks. You must commit to completing each of those every day. I do this at night before I go to bed so when I wake up the next morning I know what my day looks like and can focus on getting those necessary tasks completed.

Make sure they are accomplishable. The one thing most people who procrastinate are guilty of is taking on too much.

Write down your goals

Often people seem to be procrastinating simply because they don't know where they are going. What is the end goal? Knowing your goal can help you cut your daily tasks into small bites. This is great for organizing your schedule and keeping you on track.

It's important to write them down. We have so many they can get lost in the day-to-day shuffle. And writing them down makes them real...

Get rid of all those distractions

Working at home can be a challenge for some home business owners. Kids, chores all seem to sneak into our thoughts and seem more important than the boring task at hand.

Set aside a certain amount of time each day and let everyone in the home know that you are at work and can only be distributed in the event of an emergency. Having your own room such as a den or a basement helps to eliminate distractions, but if that's not possible try some headphones and your favorite music.

And don't forget to schedule in all those other family and household chores; they need your attention to balance your healthy life.

Take a break

As much as we may all just want to get this done, taking a break for a breath of fresh air can rejuvenate your creativity and help keep you dedicated. I like to break my day up with my different tasks. After I write my article and post it I take break for an apple and some sunshine before starting my forum posts. Or...take that little bit of free time to handle one of your personal chores. It clears the mind and gives you a new perspective.

Procrastination is a very common problem for work at home entrepreneurs. It's particularly a problem for new home business owners how have been use to a boss giving them direction.

If you dedicate yourself to following these few organizational skills you will find you can get everything in daily and feel really good about all your accomplishments. And your business profits will show it...
