You may already know that eBay doesn't allow the direct promotion of websites within auctions, but did you know there are ways to promote your website on eBay without violating any of their terms of service so that you can directly benefit from the millions of visitors they bring to the table?
First of all, you can put practically anything you want on your 'About Me' page. eBay allows you to advertise almost anything there, as long as it isn't illegal or offensive. This is a wonderful starting point for you to add links to your website, and direct any visitors who view your 'About Me' page to your main web site, or any other web site you might want them to see.
Another place where you can freely add links to your site is on an eBay blog. Many people aren't even aware of the eBay blog feature that lets you host a blog right on the eBay site. You can put almost anything you want on the blog too - including a link to your site. This gives you an instant back-link from a domain with huge authority. As of right now, there are no 'nofollow' attributes on links there, so it's a great place to get a back-link.
You can also promote your site through your auctions by advertising your site within your products themselves. If you're selling info products like eBooks or videos, you can provide the URL of your website within the product itself.
If you're shipping physical goods, you can include your URL on a 'thank you' card inside the package. If you have an e-commerce website that sells similar products, you can send your buyers to your site to buy related merchandise, instead of having them buy through eBay. This will save you from having to pay the eBay fees for those purchases.
You can also include your URL in every email you send out to winning bidders, and to those who ask you questions about items. You should consider setting your email signature to include the URL to your site so that you'll never forget to give it a plug.
Another common tactic is to watermark photos with your URL. If you're listing a product on eBay, you'll most likely be including at least one photo of the item. You can put your URL on that photo, so people who view the auction will see the URL, and might visit your site and purchase there instead. This is another way to avoid some of your eBay fees. You might even get lucky and have several visitors come to your site and purchase from a single auction listing, which means increased revenues and a substantial saving on eBay fees as you won't have to pay anything on the sales that come directly through your site.
One final point is that it's worth remembering that not everyone likes buying from auction sites. Many people prefer to buy direct from the seller, and by using the above techniques you give people a chance to do exactly that. Of course, you will still be paying fees on any sales made through eBay, which is only fair, but by using the above techniques you can help generate additional business on every single listing.

Sometimes we wonder if all of the bad news that we hear is just the media manipulating public opinion... for some reason unbeknownst to us.
Yesterday, I had driven home to me just how bad the recession actually IS in my part of the U.S., and also how I could actually help out.
I'm retired U.S. Air Force, so I've earned a pension.
That means that after having served 20 years in the military, I DO have a guaranteed income for the rest of my life. Combine that with the web business that I've built and I honestly DON'T notice most of the economic ups and downs.
Yesterday, I drove to a nearby air force base to get a haircut by my favorite barber. It was a 1-hour drive each way, but since I always LOVE the job that this barber does, it was worth the drive. At the same time, I listened to marketing CD's both ways, so I "worked" while I drove.
When I got to the barber shop, Bonnie, my favorite barber, was working on another customer. There were two other barbers in the shop, both just standing around. I had an appointment with Bonnie and patiently waited for her. I KNEW that she'd do a great job, and I didn't KNOW that about the other two barbers.
Bonnie had run this shop for many years, and has cut my hair steadily since 1998. In some areas of my life, I don't like change.
My turn came, and Bonnie did her usual fabulous job. While I was in the chair, two patrons came in. One had an appointment with Bonnie, and the other one went with Bob.
While getting my haircut, the third barber told Bonnie and Bob that she'd had enough fun for the day, and was going home. She had already planned out her next 30 days, and since there were NO customers, she was "going to go do something more productive."
As I chatted with Bonnie, careful not to distract her too much, she shared that business was at maybe 25% of the normal level. Many soldiers who normally got haircuts every week, not stretched things to every 2-3 weeks. Many retirees, who use to get haircuts every 2-4 weeks, now dropped by once every 1-2 months!
As we talked more, she pointed out that many family members of soldiers, whose incomes normally supplemented the household incomes, had been laid off from their jobs (often in the service industries). She point out that there are many THOUSANDS of out-of-work people in our local area.
Next Bonnie ask me how my business was doing.
Embarrassingly, I told her that it was doing great and that I really hadn't felt the recession. I explained to her that I sell a variety of product online, and that I have a knack for choosing product that lots of people want.
Bob perked up and came over to join the conversation between Bonnie and myself. After all, there was not another customer in site.
I explained to both of them exactly what I do online. I also shared how they, and their families and friends, could still do well using the power of the Internet.
I observed that right now two things are happening...
1) People are thinking about the upcoming holiday season and wondering if they'll have enough money to afford nice presents.
2) More people are searching harder for bargains.
Both of those things suggested to me that Ebay is the place to be as a seller, AND Ebay is the place to do your shopping. Ebay is the place where untold millions go EVERY DAY looking for bargains.
I pointed Bonnie to an ebook, and audio course called "$100 Per Day - The Ebay Way." I recommended that she get it and she and the other barbers load the MP3's onto a portable player, and listen to them during lulls at work.
I pointed them to http://SageMarketer.com/Ebay/
Bonnie, Bob and the other barber are different in many ways from the "average American." Since they are exposed to soldier every day who are taught to "find a way" they understand that they don't need to be a victim of this current economic recessions.
In every economic upturn or downturn, some people do VERY well.
The key is to find the opportunities.
It made perfect sense to them, and to me, that Ebay is the place to be if that's where so many people are forced to turn as they tighten their belts.
Bonnie and I also discussed that in times like these, often just $100 - $200 per month could make the difference between "making ends meet" and having the car repossessed.
I shared with Bonnie and Bob that there are literally THOUSANDS of honest ways to make that extra $100 - $200 in a DAY online, and that they can do it in just 1 or 2 hours of spare time.
I couldn't resist sharing with Bonnie and Bob that I co-authored an ebook called "20 Ways To Make $100 Per Day Online." I did that partly because I know that anytime you tell someone offline that you are an author, that impresses them :-)
I pointed out that Ebay is one of the most popular websites on the face of the planet, and therefore a great place to build a business. They actually get more searches than Google does!
I also acknowledged that Ebay is not for everyone. Hence, they should also get a copy of "20 Ways" and read it.
Bonnie asked where, and I told her that that was easy. Just go to http://20Ways.org
I suggested that she get a copy of the ebook, print it out, and stick it in a 3-ring binder where she could really study it. I also promised that if she had it in the barbershop on my next visit, that I'd autograph it :-)
As I finished up my visit to the barber shop, Bob joked that if I saw anyone needing a haircut, I should send them their way.
So, yes, some of us really are feeling the current economic downturn. None of us have to "take it lying down" though! Ebay is HUGE, and all of the holiday decorations being put up in my hometown tell me that the shoppers are being reminded that it's "time to shop."
It really is that simple ;-)

The Myths and Magic of eBay Drop-shipping Vendors
The Myths and Magic of eBay Drop-shipping Vendors
Download Free Copy Of Ebay Dropship Profits
If you've never heard of drop shipping, then prepare to be impressed - it sounds like every eBay seller's dream. With drop shipping, you don't have to keep any stock at all. You simply list auctions for what your drop shipper sells, without actually seeing it yourself.
Each time something sells, you let them know, and they deliver it for you - directly to the customer. They'll charge you a near-wholesale price for the item they delivered, you charge the customer whatever price you agreed, and then you pocket the difference as profit.
The Magic.
Just think of the sheer amount of trouble this takes out of eBay selling. You don't have to find space in your house to keep your stock in, or money to buy it with. You don't have to take any risk by buying things that might not sell. You don't have to deal with suppliers. You don't even have to pack or ship the auctions yourself. Wow! Can you imagine how good this would be if you could pull it off?
But, as with all things in life, if it sounds too good to be true then it just might be.
The Myths.
Drop-shippers don't do deals with just anyone - any drop shipper who says they'll take orders from unregistered businesses is likely to be a scammer. They might not send out anything at all to your customers, or you might send out very poor quality merchandise that they will then return to you for a refund.
Also, beware of companies that claim they will put you in contact with drop shippers for a fee - they are inevitably rip-offs. At the end of the day, the best way to find drop shipping companies is to contact them in the 'real world', not by typing 'drop shipping' into a search engine.
Doing it for Real.
If you want to make a profit with drop-shippers, be prepared for it to be quite a small one: you're not going to make sales on eBay at a big mark-up from drop shipping prices. You will also have to accept that you can't inspect stock before it gets sent out, and some of your descriptions might not be as good as they could be.
You should also be prepared for a few frustrating experiences with your drop shipper, as they might not share the same customer service values as you. The first time you'll realize they never sent something to one of your buyers is when you hear about it from the buyer a week later, and that's just not good.
If you can accept all these things, though, and find a reputable drop shipper, then there's money to be made. So go get 'em

EBay Selling Account Set Up
EBay Selling Account Set Up
FREE eBay Training Videos
If you are ready to start your own home business with eBay, you can get a selling account going in just a few minutes. To get started, all you need is a bank account or credit card, a computer, and an internet connection. Visit eBay's website, and sign up for an account. Choose a username that you feel best describes your new business, or use your new business's name. Try to make it as simple as possible, however, so that your potential bidders will be able to easily find you.
When you have chosen a username and confirmed your e-mail address, you will need to visit the selling section on eBay. You can do so by clicking on the selling section on the top right-hand corner of eBay's home page. Once there, you will be asked for your name, address, and bank account or credit card information. You will also be asked for your PayPal address, if you have one. When this information is all entered, you can start selling immediately.
However, you may want to do a few other things before you get started with selling. Sellers have a lot of ways to customize their appearance on eBay, starting with their about me page. Your about me page is a place where you can offer your visitors more information about you, your eBay home business, and your business policies. You can talk about your children and family, your interests, or just outline information like whether or not you accept returns, and what you do to keep your customers happy. Giving your buyers a window into your home life can often build a stronger connection between you and your customers, which can earn you more business, and more repeat customers.
You can also customize your auctions to match your about me page, or to just stand out from the other auctions. Using basic HTML, you can change your auction's background color, font style and size, and font colors. Or, if you really want to get into customizing your auctions, you can use an auction template made specifically for eBay. Many sellers offer easy to use templates right on eBay for you to purchase, but if your budget is tight, you can look for some free eBay auction templates on the internet. Quite a few websites offer free templates and free help with auction templates, so you can spruce up your listings without spending any extra money.
Once you have customized some of the available features that eBay offers its sellers, you can get started selling whenever you want. List a few items with your auction templates and see how it goes. Make sure to include a link to your about me page so your bidders can read more about your, your home business, and your customer service policies. Then, you can sit back and start enjoying the fruit of your labors. In no time, you will have built a success home business using eBay!

Tips For Dropshipping Ebay Items

In our conversation about dropshipping, ebay usually also jumps into our minds. We all know that everyone can sell literally any products on ebay, where there are thousands of customers hanging out. Because nobody wants to stock their ebay items at home, this is where dropshipping services come in the picture. Dropshipping services are the ones that will keep the items you want to sell in their own facilities and ship those items for you. All you have to do is order the items from the dropshipper, and all shipping and handling will all be processed without you having to lift a finger!
Dropshipping eBay items is the best way to save you time, money and worries. What happens at the system side is that your clients' shipping details are immediately passed on to the dropshipper once you conclude a deal on ebay, and the dropshpper will deliver the sold goods to the client's door. Most of the cases, your customer hardly knows the details of the entire transaction. All that matters is that the shipping is on time and there are no damages to the item upon arrival. The dropshippers usually only charge a small fee for handling everything after the deal was concluded online.
In case of your first dealing with a dropshpping company, an up-front payment is usually required by the dropshipper. However, after you have dealt with the dropshipper for some time, you can negotiate better terms. You just have to negotiate where you can while being realistic. The actual deal varies dependent largely on the amount of transaction in a given period.
To succeed with this dropshipping business module, it is always wise to search for products that are in high demand but are difficult to source. Do not go for products that have lots of competition on eBay, especially if you are new to ebay business. As such, it is a good practice to keep monitoring the ebay trends.
The advantages with dropshipping ebay items are obvious, but you should always be cautious and make sure that your dropshipper has stock of the item you intend to sell on ebay and that the item will be delivered on time and intact. It is your customers' conception that you have the products at your premise and that you handle the entire process including shipment. You will have to fact client complaints if they do not get what they have purchased. So, don't be surprised if a dispute arises, as the shipping process are more controlled by your dropshipper. It is therefore very important to exercise your due diligence on the dropshipping company you decide to use.

Automating Shipping For Your eBay Business
Automating Shipping For Your eBay Business
FREE eBay Training Videos
Okay, so you obviously won't be able to develop a completely automated shipping system for your home business eBay business. But with these tips, you can create a shipping method that works quickly and efficiently, giving you more time to get other things done. When you are running your own at-home eBay business, you know that time is of the essence, so anywhere you can time in your work is a big help.
Designate An Area For Your Shipping Supplies
With boxes, packing tape, packing materials, scissors, and other shipping supplies, things can get messy, and quick. Designating a room or a separate area for your shipping boxes and materials can help you keep everything under control with ease. Separating your supplies into neat piles will make the packaging process much quicker. Organize your materials so that they go in order of the way you will need them: boxes, tape, scissors, and so on. This will help automate your shipping.
Purchase Postage Online
PayPal and eBay make it simple to purchase your postage online. When you receive a payment through PayPal, it automatically sets up the address and the payment method, so that you can order and print the correct shipping information right off your computer. To help automate your shipping, you can print shipping labels as soon as you confirm a received payment, and add a note to each label denoting which item is being shipped to that address. Keep these in a neat stack with your other shipping materials, so they're easy to find when you're ready to pack your items for shipping.
Use Schedule Pick-Up Services
Scheduled your shipments with a pick-up service can not only get your items shipped faster, but it saves you from ever having to go to the post office again. If you purchase shipping online through PayPal, you can also schedule a free pick-up at the same time. After you purchase your postage, choose "Schedule Package Pick-Up" and put in your address, the date you want the package to be picked up, and the location you'll be leaving the package. It's easiest for the postman if you leave your packages near your mailbox so that they are simple to find, but if you are afraid they may be stolen, you can also request that they be picked up from your front or back porch, right inside your door, or leave special instructions for another pick-up point.
Set Aside Specific Times For Packing Your Shipments
Saving a certain day or time for packing up your shipments can save you the hassle of running back and forth from the computer to your shipping area. Once or twice a week, set aside an hour to pack everything up, slap on the postage, and leave the packages for the postman to pick up for delivery. This will not only help things go much quicker, but it makes it less likely that you'll leave an item behind that you forgot to ship.

How To Stay At Home With eBay's Help
How To Stay At Home With eBay's Help
FREE eBay Training Videos
If you are a stay at home mother looking for a way to make money while raising your children, eBay has just the answer. With eBay, you can start your own home business in a matter of minutes, and start making money in no time. Many stay at home moms are finding that they can bring home just as much money, if not more, from selling items on eBay than they would working a traditional job outside of the home. Plus, with the small amount of time in effort involved, you have plenty of time left to spend with your children.
The problem for many eBay business owners who are just starting out, however, is what exactly to sell. While the prospect of running your own home business with eBay may sound exciting, you'll be stopped dead in your tracks if you don't have anything you can actually list. Most people turn to brand new items to sell on eBay at a discounted price, but this can be costly - and even impossible - for those who are just starting out and have little money to invest in the endeavor.
Instead, you can turn to other sources for items to sell on eBay. Starting with what you have right in your very own home, you can start selling the unwanted toys and clothes that you've been meaning to get rid of. They're just sitting around, anyway, so it doesn't matter if you make $1 or $100 from selling them. You'll be able to both clear out the unwanted clutter, and make some money to get your business going at the same time.
When you have a little bit of cash saved up from selling items from around the house, then you can look at some alternative places for products to sell. If you are doing well selling used items from your home, then you may want to start checking out yard sales and other second-hand item retailers in your area. Most items can be picked up at a very cheap price, and in good condition. You can take it one step further and clean the items up, and restore them to looking almost as though they were new. With a little bit of elbow grease, a used toy may be able to fetch twice as much on eBay when you list it.
You can also visit clearance sales at popular department stores to pick up cheap clothing to sell. This clothing is obviously new, which will earn higher bids on eBay. You can find some really good deals on the clearance racks, and if you luck out and find some designer brands, you can make a killing reselling them on eBay. Just make sure to remove the clearance sticker from the original price tag! If buyers see that you paid significantly less for the item than they did, they are likely to get upset for paying an inflated price.
Other places to find discounted items for selling on eBay include consignment shops, discount stores, warehouses, and farmer's markets. These places often have used items in good condition that you can fix up for a profit, or even new items, it you're lucky. The more places to discover to find items for selling on eBay, the more your business will flourish.

The Benefits Of An eBay Business During The Credit Crunch
The Benefits Of An eBay Business During The Credit Crunch
FREE eBay Training Videos
If you are thinking about setting up an eBay business but haven't done so yet here are some good reasons to do so.
You have probably heard on the news about the hard times ahead, lots of talk about the credit crunch and people holding on to their money etc.
Well if you have an eBay business this isn't all bad news for you.
The reasons for this is that to every down side there is an upside and while many countries may be going through hard times there will be other countries that may not be affected as much.
What tends to happen is that manufacturers and businesses in the heaviest hit countries will lower their prices to help survive the recession.
This is one way that you can make money via an eBay business. As eBay and the Internet are global you can purchase from the countries that are reducing their prices and then resell to the countries that are less harshly affected. So in effect you are buying in some cases very low and selling high.
A typical person in a nine to five job will look at the recession differently to someone who owns his or her own business. Employees of a company will hope that the company that they work for will survive the recession and not make staff cutbacks.
Employees are reliant on the company that they work for and if that company makes losses it will look at cutting back on unnecessary outgoings. This could mean that there will be job losses. These employees are dependent on their income from their employers to fund their lifestyle. If they lose their job their life is turned upside down.
A shrewd eBay business owner will try and think how they could use the recession to their advantage. Such as buying stock from different places or perhaps they could make small changes to their business model. Maybe even trade in different products or they could look at dealing in second hand goods.
The other positive about eBay businesses is that if you are thinking about taking this route this type of business can be started whilst you are still working as an employee for a company.
Many a successful online business has been started in people's spare time from a bedroom or kitchen table.
An online business can be started with very little capital. To set up this type of business many households already have the main tools to enable them to do it. These main tools are a personal computer and an Internet connection.
If you don't already own a PC you can probably pick up a reasonable second hand one now for very little money. Even new PC's have come down a lot in price.
In these uncertain times you have to be prepared for change and an eBay business is a business that is quite easily adapted to change with what is going on in the world.
Unlike a brick and mortar shop that has a relatively small customer base, which is limited to the town or city that it is based in an eBay business has a possible worldwide customer base.
If you are thinking of setting up an eBay business the author of this article Robert Chenery has written a step by step user guide about getting started on eBay the guide is called Online Auctions Explained. For further details go to http://www.onlineauctionsexplained.com

eBay Sellers: The Importance of Communication
eBay Sellers: The Importance of Communication
Download Free Copy Of Guide To Cashing In On Ebay
Are you an eBay seller? If you just recently became an eBay seller, you may still be learning the ins and outs of eBay, particularly how to make a profit. While there are an unlimited number of tips that could help increase your chances of making a profit on eBay, like detailed product descriptions and such, there is one way that is relatively simple; having an open line of communication with all of your eBay buyers. Although you may not necessarily think about it at the time, communication goes a long way when it comes to online business transactions, particularly on eBay.
When it comes to keeping an open line of communication with your customers or potential customers, there are three main situations that you should take advantage of. First, if you are selling a popular item, you may have a number of bids or even a number of questions. If your product description wasn’t very detailed, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you to have messages from other eBay members seeking more information. While some of these questions may be good, valid ones, others may seem a little bit out in left field. In fact, some eBay member questions may leave you wondering if they even looked at your auction listing. Still, it is advised that you answer all user questions in a polite and timely matter. Doing so will increase the chances of your item or items being sold.
Get Free Copy Of Ebay Dropship Profits
Once an eBay buyer has agreed to buy an item from you, whether it be through a traditional auction listing or a “Buy It Now,” sale, you will want to send your customer an invoice, showing the total amount of money that they owe you. After you have received payment, there is a good chance that you will box up the items sold and head to the post office. A great way to make a good impression is to send your customers an update email; an email that can let them know that their items were just shipped. Many eBay buyers like this because it gives them an estimated arrival time frame. Should you have purchased a package tracking number, you will want supply your customers with that information.
It is also advised that you follow through, within a few days or a week, to see if your customers received their items. You may also want to send a personal note asking them how they liked the items and such. One thing that you definitely want to include in a follow-up message is a thank you note. You will want to thank each of your eBay customers for doing business with you. You should also state that you hope to do business with them again. In today’s society, many consumers are not thanked for their business anymore, although many wish that they still were. Sending a thank you follow-up note will only take a few minutes of your time, but it is something that your customers will likely remember for sometime to come.
As it was stated above, having an open line of communication may increase your eBay profits. Why you may ask? Well, you need to think of it from a consumer standpoint. If you could shop at two different retail stores, which both had the same products available for the same prices, which store would you choose? If you are like most consumers, you would respond with the store with the best customer service. eBay is no different. With competition increasing each day, you need to be able to set yourself apart from other eBay sellers. The best way to do this is to go the extra mile for your customers.
Keeping an open line of communication before, during, and after each sale will help give you a good, positive reputation among many eBay buyers. It will also likely result in return customers; customers who can help to increase your eBay profits.

Why You Must Guard Your eBay Reputation
Why You Must Guard Your eBay Reputation
FREE eBay Training Videos
You cannot ignore this fact. Your eBay reputation is everything you are on eBay. Without it, you're nothing. You are not going to succeed in becoming a power seller, or any kind of seller. Your reputation is worth as much as every sale you will ever make.
If you've ever bought anything on eBay (and the chances are you have), then think about your own behaviour. Does buying from a seller with a low feedback rating makes you feel a little nervous and insecure? In contrast, when buying from a PowerSeller with their reputation in the thousands doesn't require any thought or fear - it feels just like buying from a shop.
A Bad eBay Reputation is The Death Knell For Your Future Success.
In fact, a bad reputation will lose you almost all your sales. If someone leaves you negative feedback, you will feel the pain straight away, as that rating will go right at the top of your user page for everyone to see. Who's going to want to do business with you when they've just read that you "took a month to deliver the item", or that you had "bad communication and sent a damaged item"? The answer is no-one. It is so important to sell a product exactly the the same manner that you would wish to buy a product
Your next few items will need to be very cheap things, just to push that negative down the page. You might have to spend days or even weeks selling cheap stuff to get enough positive feedback to make anyone deal with you again.
It's even worse if you consistently let buyers leave negative feedback - once you get below 90% positive ratings, you might as well be invisible.
Understand This. You Can't Just Open a New Account.
Besides eBay's rules about only having one account, there are far more downsides than that to getting a new account. You literally have to start all over again from scratch.
You won't be able to use all the different eBay features. Your existing customers won't be able to find you any more. Your auctions will finish at a lower price because of your low feedback rating. Opening a new account is like moving to a new town to get away from a few people who are spreading rumours about you: it's throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
A Good eBay Reputation Will Get You Sales and Grow Your Selling Ambitions.
When a PowerSeller tells you something, you tend to believe them. They can be selling a pretty unlikely item, but if they guarantee it is what they say it is, then you tend to trust them - they're not going to risk their reputation, after all. This is the power of a reputation: people know you want to keep it, and they know you'll go to almost any lengths to do so.
This is true even to the point that most would sooner buy something for $20 from a seller they know that they can trust than for $15 from someone with average feedback. It's worth the extra money to feel like the seller knows what they're doing, has all their systems in place and will get them the item quickly and efficiently.
You really will find selling on eBay so much easier, and there's only way to get a good reputation: make sure you please your customers every time. It makes good business sense and you will reap the benefits for a long time to come.

Your eBay Selling Checklist
Your eBay Selling Checklist
FREE eBay Training Videos
Being an eBay seller is a lot of responsibility, and there are times that you might feel like you're not doing everything you should be to maximise your earning potential. This can be easily solved if you ensure that you have a checklist that you adhere to when commencing every auction.
This simple checklist will help you keep on top of things. You should always strive to give the very best of service, and a little extra effort can often pay off handsomely when you attract repeat buyers who appreciate your great eBay service. This is the key to becoming an eBay Power Seller, part of eBay's 2% elite.
Have you found out everything you possibly could about your items? Try typing their names into a search engine - you might find out something you didn't know. If someone else is selling the same thing as you, then always try to provide more information about it than they do.
Do you monitor the competition? Always keep an eye on how much other items the same as or similar to yours are selling, and what prices they're being offered at. There's usually little point in starting a fixed price auction for $100 when someone else is selling the item for $90.
Do you have excellent pictures or graphics of the items? It's worth taking the time to photograph your items, especially if you have a digital camera. If you get serious about eBay but don't have a camera, then you will probably want to invest in one at some point. This is essential and by having quality graphics, this will give you a huge advantage over the vast majority of eBay sellers.
Are you emailing your sellers? It's worth sending a brief email when transactions go through: something like a simple "Thank you for buying my item, please let me know when you have sent the payment". Follow this up with "Thanks for your payment, I have posted your [item name] today". You will be surprised how many problems you will avoid just by communicating this way. Such communication is the foundation for building repeated eBay business for you.
Also, are you checking your emails? Remember that potential buyers can send you email about anything at any time, and not answering these emails will just make them go somewhere else instead of buying from you.
Do your item description pages have everything that buyers need to know? If you're planning to offer international delivery, then it's good to make a list of the charges to different counties and display it on each auction. If you have any special terms and conditions (for example, if you will give a refund on any item as long as it hasn't been opened), then you should make sure these are displayed too.
Have you been wrapping your items correctly? Your wrapping should be professional for the best impression: use appropriately sized envelopes or parcels, wrap the item in bubble wrap to stop it from getting damaged, and print labels instead of hand-writing addresses. Oh, and always use first class post - don't be cheap.
Do you follow up? It is worth sending out an email a few days after you post an item, saying "Is everything alright with your purchase? I hope you received it and it was as you expected." This might sound like giving the customer an opportunity to complain, but you should be trying to help your customers, not take their money and run.
Being a really good eBay seller, more than anything else, is about providing genuinely good and honest customer service. That's the only foolproof way to protect your reputation. Don't underestimate the power an eBay Power Seller's reputation has. It may just ensure you receive more and higher bids than a rival seller selling the same or a similar item. Trust is important and this is conveyed easily when you have such status as an eBay Power Seller.

eBay Sellers: How to Market Your Auctions
eBay Sellers: How to Market Your Auctions
FREE eBay Training Videos
Are you an eBay seller? If you are, your goal is likely to make as much money as you can by selling products that you no longer need or want on eBay. Unfortunately, there are now thousands, if not millions, of individuals who are interested in doing the same thing. For you, this often means a steady increase in competition. However, even with competition, you should still be able to make a profit when using eBay, but you may need a little bit of help. That help could from marketing.
When many of us think of internet marketing, we often automatically think of online retail stores or online websites. Although you are not running your own online retail store, you are trying to make a profit online; therefore, you are, in a way, like a retailer. Just having your for sale items listed on eBay is enough to get your eBay items exposure, but you may want to think about taking it a step farther. There are a number of different ways that you can go about marketing your for sale eBay items, without having to spend a dime.
Perhaps, one of the best ways to go about marketing your eBay items is by joining the eBay community, otherwise known as the online message boards. When you talk with other eBay community members your screen name used is also your eBay name. In the eBay community forum, every time that you start a new message or respond to an existing one your name is left, with a link to your main eBay webpage. That is the age that outlines all of the items that you currently have available for sale. Many eBay community members click other member’s pages just out of curiosity, but it not uncommon for someone to find something that catches their eye. Simply starting a few conversations with other eBay community members, even just occasionally, may help to up your eBay exposure.
Another relatively easy way that you can market your eBay auction listings to the general public is by posting on a number of message boards, besides eBay. There are a number of message boards that allow internet users, just like you, to post information on items that they have available for sale, both on and off of eBay. Providing a link, as well as short description of some of the items that you are looking to sell is a great way to increase your eBay exposure and up your chances of making a sale. When taking this internet marketing approach, it is important that you only advertise your eBay listings in areas designated for doing so. Spamming is not permitted on many online message boards and it may actually get you a bad reputation.
Speaking of using online message boards, there are a number of online message boards or forums that allow members to have signatures. Signatures are where many people leave their name or a favorite quote of theirs, but some message boards allow members to use it as space to promote their products or businesses. Before posting a link to your eBay auctions, you are advised to examine the online message board’s policy concerning signature advertising. Should it be allowed, you are advised to take advantage of this free internet marketing. You will want to post a link to your eBay sales page, but be sure to mention that eBay is where all clickers will be going.
Another easy that you can promote your eBay items, particularly if you have multiple items for sale, is by putting a “please checkout my other eBay auctions,” message at the end of each of your eBay listings. As with all of the other above mentioned internet marketing tactics, this is easy and free to do.

eBay’s Turbo Lister Program: Should You Use It?
eBay’s Turbo Lister Program: Should You Use It?
FREE eBay Training Videos
Are you an eBay seller? If you are, are you familiar with eBay’s Turbo Lister program? If you are not, you may want to take the time to familiarize yourself with it, as using eBay’s Turbo Lister program can make selling on eBay as easy as can be.
eBay’s Turbo Lister program is a program that is available for download, free of charge on eBay’s website. What is nice about eBay’s Turbo Lister program is that it is easy to install and use. In fact, like eBay’s traditional way of listing items for sale, you are given step-by-step instructions. Even if you have minimal computer knowledge, you should still be able to use eBay’s Turbo Lister program, without any problems.
Now that you know exactly how you can get eBay’s Turbo Lister program, you may be wondering exactly what it is or how it can help you. See, when you download eBay’s Turbo Lister program to your computer, you can access it at anytime, even if you are not connected to the internet. eBay markets its Turbo Lister program to those who are high or medium volume eBay sellers, but it is also great for those who have dialup internet. Listing a large number of eBay auctions can tie up your phone lines, but with eBay’s Turbo Lister program you don’t even have to be online!
The eBay Turbo Lister program sets up all eBay auction listings or “Buy It Now,” listings the same way as it is done online, through their website. For instance, when using eBay’s Turbo Lister, you need to assign your item to a category, make a headline for your auction, write a detailed description of the item that you are selling, upload pictures if you have any, mention how your item will be shipped, as well as outline what methods of payment you will accept. As stated above, this process is easy, as everything is explained to you step-by-step. With eBay’s Turbo Listing program, listing on eBay is still as easy as it was before, if not easier with the ability to do so while not connected to the internet.
Speaking of not being connected to the internet, you may be wondering how your eBay items can be listed on eBay’s website if you are not connected to the internet. This is where the internet connection comes in. eBay’s Turbo Lister program enables you develop as many eBay auctions as you want, even thousands of them, without being connected to the internet. When doing so, you have the ability to save your listings for a later date; a time when you can sign online. Once you are connected to the internet, a simple click of the mouse and your eBay listings will automatically be uploaded to the eBay site. In addition to giving you the ability to work offline, you also have the ability to time your auctions, like if you want them to start or end at a certain time.
As mentioned above, if you are interested in downloading eBay’s Turbo Lister program, you can do so through their online website. Since downloading and using eBay’s Turbo Lister program is free, you are urged to at least give it a try. Should you not like the way that the program works, you could always return to listing your eBay items the traditional way, though the eBay website.

Know eBay's Different Auction Types
Know eBay's Different Auction Types
Download Free Copy Of Ebay Dropship Profits
Over the years, eBay has introduced all sorts of different auction types, in an effort to give people more options when they buy and sell their things on eBay.
For every seller who doesn't like the idea that their item might sell for a far lower price than they intend, there's another who wants to shift hundreds of the same item quickly. eBay tries to cater to all tastes. This email gives you an overview of the different kinds of auctions and their advantages for you.
Normal Auctions.
These are the bread-and-butter of eBay, the auctions everyone knows: buyers bid, others outbid them, they bid again, and the winner gets the item. Simple.
Reserve Auctions.
Reserve auctions are for sellers who don't want their items to sell for less than a certain price - a concept you'll know about if you're familiar with real auctions. They work just like normal auctions on eBay, except that the buyer will be told if their bid does not meet the reserve price you set, and they'll need to bid again if they want the item. If no-one is willing to meet your price, then the auction is cancelled, and you keep the item.
Fixed Price ('Buy it Now') Auctions.
Buy it Now auctions can work in one of two ways. You can add a Buy it Now button to a normal auction, meaning that buyers can choose either to bid normally or to simply pay the asking price and avoid the whole bidding process. Some sellers, though, now cut out the auction process altogether and simply list all their items at fixed price. This lets you avoid all the complications of the auction format and simply list your items for how much you want them to sell for.
Recently, eBay added a twist to fixed price auctions: the 'best offer'. This means that buyers can contact you to negotiate a price, which could be a good way to get sell some extra stock at a small discount. The only downside to reserve and fixed price auctions is that you pay a small extra fee to use these formats. In general, it is more worth using reserve auctions for higher-priced items and fixed price auctions for lower-priced ones - but remember that you can combine the two formats.
Multiple Item ('Dutch') Auctions.
These are auctions where you can sell more than one of a certain item. Dutch auctions can be done by bidding. Buyers bid a price and say how many items they want, and then everyone pays the lowest price that was bid by one of the winning bidders. If you have trouble getting your head around that, then don't worry - everyone else does too! These auctions are very rare.
What is more common is when a seller has a lot of one item, and lists it using a combination of two auction types: a multiple-item fixed price auction. This just means that you can just say how many of the item you they have, and offer them at a fixed price per unit. Buyers can enter how many they want and then just click Buy it Now to get them.
Now that you know about the different types of auctions, you should make sure that the items you plan to sell don't violate eBay's listing policies.

There's Much You Can Learn From Competing eBay Auctions
There's Much You Can Learn From Competing eBay Auctions
Download Free Copy Of Guide To Cashing In On Ebay
If you haven't already, you need to start looking at your competitors' auctions because you can learn a lot, as long as you know what you're looking for.
To begin with, don't waste your time looking at currently running listings because you don't know what's going to happen with them. Instead, use the advanced search form and search the completed listings for auctions that sold.
To do this, simply go to eBay's advanced search form, type in your best keywords, check the "Completed listings only" checkbox and set the minimum number of bids to 1. Also, set the sort order at the bottom of the form to "Price: highest first".
This will show you competing auctions that have recently ended, with the ones that sold for the most at the top. Go through and take a look, ignoring auctions with a red price because they didn't sell. Pay special attention to the following things:
Titles. What are the other sellers putting in their titles and what are they leaving out? If your titles are very different then it might be a good idea to see if you can make improvements.
Descriptions. You'll probably notice that the successful sellers haven't just copied text from a company website or from an Amazon.com review. They've gone through the trouble of writing a little about the item and about themselves. Learn from their example.
Pictures. I can almost guarantee you that the top selling auctions will have good quality pictures which show enough detail to let eBayers see what they're getting. With items of any significant cost, you will probably find multiple picture, each from a different angle.
Style. Is it written conversationally or with a businesslike tone? The way you should write depends on your target audience, and these people seemed to like what the top sellers wrote. After all, their items sold.
Time. It might seem insignificant to ignore this as a factor, but pay attention to when the top selling auctions began and ended and how mamy days they were listed for. This might give you some clues about the best way to attract buyers who will bid your item up. Then you can schedule your items accordingly.
Price. If your competitors are selling using Buy it Now, check to see what the maximum price is that they've managed to sell for recently and consider setting your own Buy it Now price slightly below that.
Shipping. Search the listings to find the "sweet spot" for shipping. If you can figure out a way to get your shipping costs lower than the highest sellers then this might be a great opportunity to differentiate yourself in the market. You might be surprised at how much of an impact a small difference in shipping can make.
Once you've done your research and you find out what works, you can start to emulate your competitors. Of course don't just copy them completely. Instead, structure your auctions in a similar manner and make sure they include the same information.

The eBay Digital Policy Change: A Fatal Blow or an Opportunity?
The eBay Digital Policy Change: A Fatal Blow or an Opportunity?
Download Free Copy Of Ebay Dropship Profits By Tim Knox
As we all know eBay has changed their policy on selling digital products via their website. This change has been primarily made to stop feedback manipulation by the 'one cent eBook'. Many of you may be thinking is this the end of digital products and also the end of many online businesses. But it isn't that bad and it could actually be the motivation people need to maximize the potential profit made instead of having everything on autopilot and becoming lazy due to not having to lift a finger.
The main thing you will notice is this change will result in a massive gap in the market as the 'one cent eBook' will become extinct, however don't be so naive as to think this will end all feedback manipulation as there will be people out there who will continually try to cheat the system.
So how do we keep selling our products? The answer is to turn them into a multimedia product because eBay has nothing against selling products that are not digitally received. So turning your eBooks into physical products is the answer, as soon as it is physical it isn't digitally received therefore is not breaking any rules on eBay. This is great news for all the people out there who provide excellent customer service as this will now be a key factor in selling your new physical products on eBay and also you can charge more for these type of products as much as 10 times meaning more profit for the people who stay with eBay and make eBay work for them.
Another benefit is also the chance to up-sell is changed hugely. As if you provide a professional looking multimedia product with covers and maybe even printouts to accompany the CD they instantly respect your opinions and trust that any other products created by you will be as good as the one they received.
This is where there is a chance to capture their email via an opt-in form or even direct them to your other eBooks on the internet via links in the product and if it is outside eBay it can still be automated. This adds people to your list and also has the chance of them making even more purchases.
Think of your new physical products as a website on a CD and is yours to advertise your other products without breaking the rules of eBay. With this in mind this change could be what the hard-working internet marketers out there needed as it will weed out the minor competition leaving a path to success for the people with the right ideas and well worked out businesses.

Why Using Pictures Increases eBay Bid Response
Why Using Pictures Increases eBay Bid Response
Download Free Copy Of Guide To Cashing In On Ebay
It's been a statistic on eBay for a long time: buyers really like pictures. The more pictures you have, the more likely they will buy from you, decreasing the chances of them buying from your competitor. In fact, there are plenty of buyers who will leave your auction within 5 seconds of arriving if they don't find a picture there waiting for the, not to mention that your auction is far less likely to even get clicked on in eBay's search results.
A little extra work on your photography can massively pay off, especially if you're working on slim profit margins. But why is it so effective? Well, here are 3 reasons.
1) It shows a buyer is serious. Sellers who take the time to take good pictures are surely more likely to provide good customer service, and buyers know this, at least on a subconscious level. If a seller doesn't even bother to take a photo and upload it to eBay then is he going to pack the item properly or mail it on time?
2) It makes eBayers better trust sellers. Your browsers will trust you more that you actually have the item you listed if you post your own photo of it. It also reassures your browsers that your item isn't a beat up broken piece of garbage.
3) It makes auctions stand out. When your picture is displayed on the eBay search results screen, people can see the item right there instead of having to read your title and description. Allowing eBayers to work visually is very powerful and they are more likely not to pass over a search result with a picture.
So if you want the benefits that pictures can bring to your eBay auctions then what should you do? Here are a few simple tips to make your pictures better.
1) Bombard eBayers with images. eBay might want you to pay for the privilege of adding more than one picture to an auction, but if you have your own web hosting then you can do it for free. Just take as many pictures as you want, upload them to your host and then add them to the auction using HTML.
If you do not know how to do this then know that it's very simple. All you have to do is perform a quick search on Google or check on eBay's help pages and you will find all the information you need.
2) Improve picture quality. Get a good camera and pay attention to technique and composition when you take the photos. Don't just throw your item anywhere and take the pictures. If you're not sure of yourself when it comes to photography, an empty, lightly colored table against a white or nearly-white wall is always a good place to use.
3) Use the best pictures you can. If you have one, use an image-editing program to touch up your pictures. Don't have one? There are plenty of choices. Do a search online and you will find plenty of choices, and a lot of them will be free. Adjust things like brightness and contrast to make sure your browsers get the best view of your items.

Easy Market Research and Product Sourcing Method For Your eBay Business
Easy Market Research and Product Sourcing Method For Your eBay Business
Copyright © 2008 Jenny How
Download Free Copy Of Ebay Dropship Profits By Tim Knox
What is product sourcing? Product sourcing basically means finding products to sell in your business whether offline or online.
Usually a product is bought at a wholesale price and then sold while keeping a profit margin.
For an internet marketer it is a significant issue since most of his success depends on good product sourcing. There are many other aspects that a marketer has to keep in mind and product sourcing is one of them.
Product sourcing can break or increases your profit margins, allows you to have flexibility in offering discounts to your customers and you can give tough competition to your peer sellers.
There are a few tips you can keep in mind when doing product sourcing for eBay.
Unquestionably, try not to skim doing lots of research. It may seem tedious, time wasting and impossible, but this is the part which could make you money in the long run.
Be the first few to find the product source for these demand products. Where possible, sell those products to the customers that they wish for. How can you know?
On eBay find the 'Hot items by category'. http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/hotitems.pdf
You can see the Super Hot, Very Hot and Hot items based on the demands that customers make.
There's another section called 'eBay Pulse' which lists out the words that have been used maximum number of times. You can specifically target the products on knowing these words. http://pulse.ebay.com
Several research tools are available that are provided by third party companies to assist you in finding what your customers are actually looking for. Famous ones being Terrapeak and Hammertap.
Many product sourcing companies comes with their in-house research tools too, like Worldwide Brands and Salehoo.
Hopefully by now you have learnt all the possible in demand products and what your buyer wants.
You can now start to look for products in the wholesale market. There is a huge range available but you have to be particular in selecting your inventory.
The right inventory collection is the first step towards a successful online business. If committing to quantities and minimum orders is a problem to you, look under 'eBay wholesale lots' portal you will find items that are being sold at wholesale prices.
Here's another place which can help you - 'eBay reseller marketplace' portal, where sellers are allowed to bid for those wholesale products that have offered for resale. http://reseller.ebay.com/ns/home.html
The 'eBay Solutions Directory' gives you a list of legitimate companies that will help you find reliable wholesale resources. http://solutions.ebay.com
90-100% of all eBay sellers are holding secrets of their success. Nobody will ever reveal the source of there products upfront.
And to find a location from where you get a stable supply of products can be a very challenging task. For a beginner it is advisable to look at the local wholesalers.
A lot of patience is required in building your niche, but don't give up!

10 Ways to Put Your eBay Business in the Grave
10 Ways to Put Your eBay Business in the Grave
Download Free Copy Of Ebay Dropship Profits By Tim Knox
It's extremely easy to put your eBay business 6 feet under. You have to be careful, even though you can start over from scratch without it costing you much, but is this something you really want to do? However, if you want your business to end up dead in the water, here are some simple ways to do it.
Lie about an auction item: If you say an item works fine when it sometimes doesn't or if you say it's in perfect condition when it has blemishes then you will have angry customers.
Mail the auction item whenever you feel like it: If you leave your customers hanging around wondering when their item is going to turn up then you will probably end up with no repeat buyers.
Let items end anytime: Few people will be around to bid on your auction if it's ending in the middle of the night. You should go to the trouble of working out whether auctions will end at a good time.
Don't bother with email: If you take the attitude that communicating with customers is a timewasters then your eBay businesses will end up on the chopping block fast. Communicate by giving informed responses to questions about your auction item.
Offer trash: Don't get caught up thinking you can just sell any old tat from the market for a huge profit on eBay. Don't let quality be someone else's concern. At the very least, if you do sell an item at auction that is old, tarnished, scratched, etc. then be open and honest about this in your eBay auction ad.
Give no discounts: If you stand hard and fast to the adage that you will give no eBay buyers discounts then you are going to leave money on the table. Not only can you get buyers to buy more, you can get buyers to come back again.
Use visually unappealing auction listings: Things to do if you want to repel potential bidders: use a bunch of colors, flashing lights and animations. Write the entire auction description in CAPITALS!!!! Hey, might as well use big, red capital letters. Also, be sure to use the fonts Impact and Comic Sans, and for an extra special touch, see if you can figure out a way to add some music.
Don't use pictures of your auction item: Not only do pictures give more information to your eBay bidders, but they will also give your auction more of a chance of getting checked out when buyers do searches. And I personally think having pictures in your listing can give bidders more of sense that they will not get ripped off by you.
Write short descriptions: Another eBay business killer is to be as brief as possible in your auction description. Also, try not too use too many mysterious abbreviations, and for goodness sakes do not just write the title again in the description box. Use reserve auctions: Now, this is a fairly controversial idea, but this can be one of the best ways to scare away your eBay customers. They'll see 'reserve not yet met', and click that 'back' button before you know it. Luckily, they can always bid in a normal auction for the item somewhere else. Now I know this can be used properly, but try to avoid it as often as possible.
God bless, Clint

How To Become A Ebay Elite Seller In Easy Steps
How To Become A Ebay Elite Seller In Easy Steps
Download Free Copy Of Ebay Dropship Profits By Tim Knox
The popularity of Ebay grows as over 70,000 new customers per day use the auction website to source products that they want or need for hopefully a bargain price. It is a huge market place of hungry targeted buyers that is brilliantly exploited by a very small select few who know how to play the Ebay auction selling game.
There are several fundamentals that must be adhered to if someone is going to transform their fortunes from an amateur Ebay auction seller into an elite Ebay auction seller. The difference is selling the occasional product to selling lots of in demand products to hungry bidders who are literally throwing money at you.
In order to create a winning Ebay auction scenario you must be aware of and undertake the following when offering a product for sale.
1 Always include an image - the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" is very true. Ebay allows one photo per product free of charge and use it to clearly show you r product, its condition and anything else that may affect its value. To give yourself an advantage over others, use an image hosting service and include as many photos as necessary to give the product as much chance of receiving as many bids as possible.
2 Benefit from cross promotion - As you wish to be more than an average Ebay auction seller, ensure that you have more than one product available to bid on. The hard work is getting a viewer to your page, once there make sure you give them every opportunity to bid on at least one of your products. Every page should have a link to another product. This is in addition to the "view other sellers' items" facility. It will give you the air of an established and professional Ebay auction seller which will build the all important trust between you and the bidder.
3 Have a return policy - This is essential to give yourself legitimacy amongst the bidders and confidence for them. Remember, Ebay auctions are impersonal, the bidders can't see you, don't know you and may have never done business with you before. A clear return policy stating how long it is valid for, dealing with faults, lost shipping etc will pay dividends. Don't forget, a returns policy is the bidders insurance policy and don't forget that few successful Ebay bidders make actual use of such a policy.
4 Open an Ebay store - An average Ebay seller does not do this but for those seeking elite status this is essential. It will give you such an advantage over virtually all other Ebay auction sellers because it creates you as a trusted brand. By having an Ebay store, you will benefit from cheaper and longer listings and don't forget that this will enable you to cross promote your products. Plus, as your Ebay store will appear in the Ebay directory, this will give you and your products greater exposure.
5 Attend to queries immediately - if you are required to respond to a query from a successful Ebay bidder or whoever, do it as soon as you can, instantly preferably. It is all about satisfactory customer service. Don't you think a successful Ebay bidder will be impressed if they receive a speedy email to say that their product has been shipped today and ask them to contact you if there are any problems?
