Building Your Web Site Traffic - Link Building And RSS Feeds

Just about anyone can create a website pretty easily these days with a few mouse clicks, but buildings your web site traffic is a lot more difficult. Don't worry if you need to increase traffic to your web site because I can show you how to do it. If this sounds interesting to you, then read on for the details.
One of the best ways to building your web site traffic is through link building. Link building occurs when you have other websites that link to yours. In return, you link to their web site. Search engines will rank your page higher in the listings if you are linked to sites that are similar to yours. For example, if your site is about computers then you should be linked into other sites about computers and technology. If your site is linked to topics totally different such as child-care or cooking sites, then your page ranking will suffer because the links are not pertinent to the topic.
Create top 10 lists on your site. People like to link to lists because the lists are easy to read and informative. In addition, lists just look pretty neat and you have a better chance of getting people to link to your site by providing funny or topical lists that pertain to your web site content.
Another way to increase web traffic to your site is to submit your content to RSS feeds. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a generic format that is used to publish content from blogs, web sites and news sources that are frequently updated. Readers subscribe to RSS feeds so that they can get website updates directly to their desktops. As a content provider, you would submit your web site to RSS directories. The RSS directories will list your site as a feed available to users who wish to subscribe. This will increase the amount of links that you will get as well as turn up your site in search engines.
Many people find that using forums is a great way to build traffic to your site. However, this requires a lot of work on your part. You must find a forum that has similar content to what is on your site that also has a high page rank in search engines. Then you need to join the forum and start making posts. Each of your posts should have a link to your website. However, moderators are quick to delete any posts that are blatant spamming for your site. To prevent your posts from getting deleted, you will need to create thoughtful and informative posts.
You must contribute something to the forum that you are on so that you will be considered part if that community. Those who are simply there to promote their own site will quickly be found out. Active users of the forum will not have their posts removed, so it pays to be helpful and informative. You may get quite a bit of traffic from the forum postings, but you will also have to post a lot to make a name for yourself. All of these are great ways to build traffic to your web site.

Developing a Link Strategy For Outbound Links
Developing a Link Strategy For Outbound Links

Helping Boost Your Pages' SEO Score
Most people aren't aware that outbound links can have a major impact on how well their site ranks with Google.
Understanding how outbound links work with regards to Google PageRank is very important and a much under-used strategy for gaining search engine dominance. Using improper linking can cause what is known as unnecessary PageRank bleed, which results in links sending less PageRank to the pages you really want to send it to!
Sounds complicated? Let me explain this in simple terms.
We're going to use a hypothetical situation here, because no one outside of Google can be certain of exactly how Google uses Page Rank.
Let's say your page has 100 points of PageRank value (PR) to spread around. If you have ten links on your page, you can pass ten points of PR to each page you're linking to.
If you have 100 links on the page, you can only pass one point to each link! Remember, internal links also pass PageRank, so you don't want to bleed too much of your PR into your outbound links. You should conserve as much PR as possible to be passed on to your own internal pages, and to other sites you own.
Let's say you're citing a few resources as references in an article you're putting on your site. You might not want to pass any of your valuable PageRank to these sources, because this does nothing for you.
The only exception would be if you were linking to an authority site with a good PageRank, because it's theorized that linking out to quality sites also gives you credibility in the eyes of the search engines.
But if you're linking to sites that aren't of the highest quality, you can prevent the bleeding of PR to these pages by using the nofollow attribute on these outbound links. Using nofollow will cause most search engines to ignore that link as if it doesn't exist at all.
If you use a web site builder you will often find powerful nofollow features that allow you to set the nofollow on an individual link basis, on a navigation menu level, or on a global level.
You may be tempted to use the nofollow attribute on links that you send out to traffic trade partners, but this is deceptive. It's not considered good form to do this, because one of the main purposes of reciprocal linking is to gain backlinks.
If they're linking to you properly, and you're linking to them with the nofollow tag, then they're getting no real value from your link to them. If you're trading links with other sites and you intend to use the nofollow tag on these links, it's important to state this up front. Some sites won't want to exchange links if you do this, so keep that in mind.
Something else worth paying attention to is where links appear on your page. If you want to be sure to pass along as much PR as possible to a certain link, you should make sure that link is not in a long list of links with no other text between them. Search engines see long lists of nothing but links as being a bit spammy, so they tend to weigh these links with less importance. A link that is inside a paragraph of text is typically given more weight, because it looks like a more natural link. It looks like a news site citing a reference, or a writer linking to a particular resource.
By being careful with your outbound linking strategy, you can maximize the PageRank that's sent to the pages you really care about, while minimizing the bleed of PR to pages you don't. This is why it is so important to carefully plan your outbound links.

12 Ways to Get Back Links to your Website
12 Ways to Get Back Links to your Website
Download Free Copy Of List Building Super Tips
One thing that has not changed since the beginning of the Internet is that the greater the number of back links you have pointing to your site, the greater chance you have of getting the most traffic. Therefore it makes sense that you should get as many back links pointing to your website as possible.
Here are 12 ways to get backlinks to your website that you can start doing today.
1. Write and submit articles to article directories. Include a resource box with a link pointing back to your website. To increase the number of back links used a mass article submission service to reach hundreds of directories for one article.
2. Post comments in other people's blogs. Only post in blogs where you are allowed to include your website URL. Make sure that the blogs you are commenting on will post a live link (without the nofollow attribute)
3. Make comments in online discussion forums. Set up a signature file that includes a hyperlinked keyword phrase back to your website.
4. Run ads in ezines that are archived online. You can use an ad service such as My Wizard Ads to place one ad in multiple ezines at a time.
5. Trade links with another website. Join a reciprocal linking or a three way linking service and reach hundreds of link trade partners at a time.
6. Buy text Link ads on another website. Look for places where you can purchase one ad and have it run on multiple websites or blogs.
7. Submit your website to directories. There are literally thousands of directories you can submit your website to on the internet.
8. Do a press release to publish online. Any time you have something new to announce about your company issue a press release.
9. Add your testimonial to product launches. If you are an established business people will be happy to include your testimonial on their new product.
10. Write articles and submit them to ezine publishers. This is also a great way to get free advertising without actually purchasing it.
11. Syndicate your blog comment to an RSS feed. This will be picked up by other bloggers and posted on their site as content with your link in it.
12. Create a "link to me" page on your homepage. If people like your site they will refer you naturally by adding your link to theirs
These are 12 ways you can get backlinks to your website. You are only limited by your own creativity when it comes to getting your link on somebody else's website or blog.

People always ask me how the syndication of press releases and book-marking your blog in many of the social book-marking sites can possibly generate traffic for your site.
The other day I submitted a press release to thousands of online sources for a client. As part of my regular routine, I then put the release up on their web site. Not 20 minutes later they had a new comment on that press release:
"I found your site on Technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. I'm looking forward to reading more from you." So do these strategies work? You bet they do! Below are a few link-building strategies for you to use in your own business to help generate traffic for your site.
1. Social Book-Marking Sites
Social Media book-marking is the strategy used in the story above. It's also usually the quickest way to get your content read. Use social book-marking sites like Digg, Delicious, Reddit and Technorati to bookmark your own blogs. Make sure to write an attention grabbing headline and use appropriate keywords so that people searching for your particular topic and/ or product will be able to find you. As the story above shows, this is a simple way to create a loyal fan base.
2. Comment on Other Blogs in Your Industry
Find relevant successful blogs in your particular niche that you can comment on. If you find a blog that already has a loyal fan base, become a part of their community and you can tap into that fan base. Start leaving comments on the blogs with a link back to your web site (or blog). Engaging with these relevant blogs is a great way to get noticed. It can also lead to valuable links back to your site. Just like with any other conversation, join in and share your opinion; however, make sure you present both you and your company in the best light possible by leaving relevant comments that will actually help others in your niche.
3. Article Syndication Sites
Start writing relevant articles about your niche and syndicate them. There a ton of these article syndication sites out there, some that we use and suggest are http://www.ezinearticles.com, http://www.articlemarketer.com, http://submityourarticle.com, http://www.articlebase.com.
Each of these sites allow you to have a byline at the bottom of your article so if someone reads your article and likes what they see they can visit your site for more information.
Submitting your article to these types of sites does several things. One benefit is that it allows you to get your information out there (through RSS feeds) on thousands of web sites and can lead to your content being referenced in other posts and articles. Also, make sure to always include your web address in your author byline because each time your article is picked up on a site, it provides a link back to your site, thus generating highly targeted traffic to your web site and also raising your search engine rankings through your increased number of link-backs.
Another simple hint: In your byline give the reader a reason to visit your web site. For example, "Want to find more insider secrets to successfully grow your business and increase profits? Check out www.yourwebsitehere.com for a free copy of Top 10 secrets to gaining ridiculous income in 6 months." (Not to mention if they go and sign-up, then they're on your mailing list!)
Conclusion:
Remember, if you don't take the time to tell people about you and your business then no one will ever know what they're missing!

Essential Link Building

It's vitally important that you increase the number of websites that link to your website. Doing this helps you steadily increase traffic and generate more sales. However, if you are to be successful, you must be sure that your website is good enough for someone to link to you.
So, how do you do that?
There is an old cliche that always rings true in the Internet world - "Content is king". And this is absolutely spot on.
You may be wondering how your content is related to our current topic of building link building, but there is a perfectly sound connection...
It is important that you have quality content on your website or other webmasters will most likely not want to trade links. Your website also needs to be informative and interesting, as this will increase the chance of getting a link from someone else.
Remember, links to your website are the building blocks to success, so it's worth the effort to acquire them.
Now, let's go over a small checklist of websites that would be good candidates for good link building:
* Websites with quality, related content.
* Websites that have higher PageRank than you currently have.
* Online directories like Yahoo and other business directories.
* Web 2.0 websites like Squidoo.com and Hubpages.com.
It's no secret that Google (and other search engines) will list you higher in the search results for having a lot of quality inbound links. So, you should really concentrate on building quality links, which will do more for you than tinkering with Alt tags or any other onsite optimization.
The only downside is that building link popularity is not always easy to do. It tends to be a bit boring and tedious. Plus, it usually takes a big chunk of your time, which is probably why most people don't like to do it.
Luckily for you, there is a solution!
A brand new search engine optimization tool just came out called SEO Equalizer. Not only is this software super easy to use, but it is also extremely affordable. I do suggest you pop over to the website and read all about it...

One-Way Link Building Using Articles: Part 1
One-Way Link Building Using Articles: Part 1
Download Free Copy Of Landing Page Success Guide
Writing quality articles is one of the best, free ways to build traffic to your website or blog. One-way links pointing to your website or blog is what you need to build your traffic.
One-way links are links that point to your website without your having to put a link on another website. Formerly, people would trade links: "I will link to your website if you link to mine." Although this works to some extent, they balance each other out and aren't very effective. In addition, when your site is about health food and you trade links with a site that is about ball bearings, it can do you harm.
Google and other search engines are on the prowl for good content. When they find it, they will send more traffic to a website or blog that produces consistent, quality informative articles.
One point about consistency: Consistency is very important: For example, if you write two to three articles per week, be consistent. Don't write four articles, and then skip a couple of weeks. If you work hard and put together a large number of articles, don't post them all at once. . . space them out.
One-way link building is more effective if you write about a topic using a keyword phrase that you are targeting. For example, if you don't have access to software such as Word Tracker, or Ad Word Analyzer or a number of other analysis tools, you can go to http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/ Seobook offers all you need, and it is free. Make sure that you put quotes around your keyword search phrase. For example, look for "one way link building" with quotes rather than one way link building. This will tell the search tool that you are looking for the exact phrase.
Spend some time searching for keyword phrases that show greater than 2000 searches per month and have a total number of results less than 10,000. It is even better if the total number of results is less than 5,000. You are looking for a keyword phrase that is popular enough to be used in searches, but that brings up a reasonable number of results so that your article has a chance of being shown on the first search page. Granted, this will take some time finding the phrase you want to feature, but the results are worth it. Just come as close as you can to these metrics.
Once you have found the particular phrase you want to write about, you need to use the keyword phrase: - In the title of the article, - Three times per one-hundred words, - In the last sentence of your article, - In the link to your article or webpage.
One-way link building can have a tremendous effect on the traffic you receive.

Back links are really important in the world of Search Engine Optimization. If you want your site to do well in search engine listing results you have to have a good page ranking. If you want a higher page ranking you're going to need to create lots and lots of back links.
It takes time and talent to do this but it will be worth it. Google receives 3,000 search inquiries a second. That's 180,000 per minute. If you want your share of this avalanche of free business, you will need to work hard and work smart.
Back links are simply a link from somewhere else to your site. It sounds easy to create them and it is easy, but you will need thousands of these links and you will need new ones every month. They may only take a minute to create but to create hundreds or thousands take lots of time and talent.
How Many Links Do You Need?
Lots and lots. You need more than the competitor that is ranked number one with Google. If you do that, you will be number one. Let's take a look at a few areas and see how many we would need to dominate that field. - Top company in "search engine optimization" had 52,100 links - Top company in "web site design" had 54,200 links - Top Company in "custom T-shirts" had 72,000 links - Top Company in "Tiffany Lamps" had 825
As you can see, the more competitive the area, the more links it takes to be number one. Plan to add as many links as you can every month for as long as you stay in business. Remember that your competitors are adding new links every month too, so the number of links you need keeps growing.
Beware Of Short Cuts To Success
As you surf the web, you will see sites that advertise short cuts to link creation. They offer to sell you hundreds of links. As you evaluate these services, realize that the quality of your links is important to your success. The sites you link to must concern themselves with similar topics to your site or they may be disregarded by the search engines. Also, the quality of the linking site is important. If the site is known for spam or porn, you may be seriously penalized search engine rankings just for being associated with it. Buying back links is fraught with danger. Choosing the site you link and actually creating the link to is a much better alternative.
Using Articles To Create Links
Writing informative articles is a great way to create back links. You can use the articles on your site and publish them to article directory sites. Every site that publishes your article will create a back link to your site. Other sites may pick up your article and publish it creating "viral" publishing and more links. You should assign someone to write one or two articles every month without fail or hire an outside source to do this for you.
Using Video To Create Links
Another great way to create links and sell as well is to create video clips that tell your story or sell your product in an interesting way. You can use these clips to sell on your site and you can publish them to video sites like youtube.com, metacafe.com, viddler.com and many others. These get great rankings in the search engines. You should assign someone to write one or two articles every month without fail or hire an outside source to do this for you.
Using Social Networks To Create Links
Social networks like myspace.com are great ways to create quality links. Myspace is one of the most visited sites on the web, so links from it make your site rank as very popular. To create links from social sites, open an account , link to others with similar interests, and make comments that include a link to your site.
Using Blogs To Create Links Blogs want comments from readers. Visit blogs on similar topics to yours and on any popular blogs, leave a comment on a posting. Your comment can contain a link to your site. This should not be just self serving but should continue the dialog. For example, if your site deals with web marketing and you see a blog article on meta tags, you might make a comment like, "excellent article with good points. I also found good meta tag tools at www.yoursite.com" One great way to find good blogs is to set up a Google alert for all keywords you use and you will be notified anytime a post is made with those key words. Then, you simply visit the blog and make a comment.
That Sounds Like A Lot Of Work
It is a huge amount of work but just keep remembering those 180,000 inquiries per second. If you do not have the time to do this kind of work, there are micro ad agencies on the web who can do it for you. Outsourcing this work is very cost effective as it allows you to keep selling and managing while someone else creates the links that drive your site to the top of the inquiry list.
This article discusses how to create profitable back links for generating web traffic through content creation. It disucsses using artilces, videos, blogs and social networking to create web traffic and successfully create web traffic though mweb marketing that does not cost time. 4 Terrific Tips For Getting Better Links From Other Web Sites
4 Terrific Tips For Getting Better Links From Other Web Sites
Get Free Copy of Derek Gehl's Six Steps You Need To Follow To Guarantee The Success Of Your Online Business! & Affiliate Marketer's Handbook
Basically, if your website is any good, you will have other webmasters submitting requests to you asking if you will link to their website in exchange for a link back to your site from their site. That is a reciprocal link. We then have to ask ourselves if this is a good idea or not? You have control over your website thankfully, and you can make commercial decisions as to whether a link exchange benefits you. Here are some pointers to consider if a link to your site is worthy of reciprocating.
1. Does The Other Site Have Any Relevance To Your Site?
There are different schools of thought regarding how important relevance is when accepting link requests. I have seen evidence to suggest that it is not critical and that you will benefit from links from most sites. Whilst common sense suggests that a link from a site with a similar theme to yours is likely to bring in link minded visitors, probably the best advice I have had is that which suggested putting yourself in the mind of your visitors. If you feel that the link you are proposing would be of interest to your visitors, then it is probably a good link to have.
2. How Many Links Should You Have On A Page?
Before you agree to a link from a third party site, you should ask for the exact location where the link will be held, and you should take the time to examine it. The first think you should check for (apart from the fact that the site is working) is how many links there are on that page. If there are hundreds of links on a page, and assuming that the page does not carry any page rank, then you could be wasting your time. If the page carries rank then having your link on the page could be worthwhile, but to be honest, any more than around 75 links and you should probably not bother.
3. Check The Site's Page Rank On Google
Google applies a mystical formula to websites, and gives them a score called Page Rank. You can use page rank to help you assess the quality of a page. Or at least, PR gives you some idea of how Google views the site. You can see a site's PR by installing the Google toolbar. Remember that PR is a gauge of how Google sees a site. The other big search engines do work independently of PR.
4. Is A Site Better If The Links Are Categorized?
If links are organised properly, it does give you an idea of the type of people behind the site. A slapdash site may well be indicative of slapdash owners, and that might be something that you should be wary of. By the same token, try and organise your links as well. They will appear more attractive to the search engines if there is a theme to the links, as well as more attractive to prospective link partners.
What you should have now is some ideas of a link building strategy that allows you to make good decisions based on sound principles, and now you should be better placed to make those decisions.
You can make your link building life an easier by using tools that save you time and money. Link Checking is a breeze when you have the right tool to help you. This tool can also help you find better link partners.
You can try some new link building techniques. These are very successful. Techniques that take the pain away from the link building process.

Introduction:
Building high quality links to your website is one of the most important things that you can do to improve your search engine rankings. You can think of these links as votes in favor of you website (this is the way the search engines see it). Acquiring high quality links for your site can be very time consuming, however it is a very important thing to do if you want to get great search engine rankings.
Before I continue, let me quickly define Link Popularity (link pop) for you. Link Popularity simply refers to the amount and quality of inbound links to your site. There are many free tools available on the internet for checking your link popularity.
How Link Directories Can Help You
Using link directories is one of the best ways to get quality links to your site. Just so you know, a link directory is a web site that has a large collection of links which are organized by topic. People who are searching for a particular type of web site will use links directories as an alternative to doing a search engine query.
There are thousands upon thousands of link directories out there to choose from. I recently typed the keywords: link directories in to Google and received 1,120,000 hits.
When you submit your site to a link directory, it is edited by a human. Your submission will either be accepted or rejected, depending on the quality of you site, and whether it is relevant to the directory you are submitting to. If your site gets accepted, the users of the link directory will consider your site to be credible. Also, the search engines love links that point to your website from quality link directories.
You will want to have your link placed on as many link directories as you can. There are three reasons for doing this. First, you will get targeted traffic to your site when people search the directory for your type of site. Second, you will increase you search engine rankings as your link popularity increases. Third, having links from link directories will help your web site pages to get indexed quickly.
Some Features Of Link Directories
When you submit to a link directory, you are usually given 3 choices that look something like this: o Featured Links o Regular Links o Regular Links With Recipricol The featured links will normally keep your listing towards the top of the list. There is always a charge for featured links (this is one of the ways that link exchanges make their money). The trouble here is that if a lot of people are buying featured links for a particular category, you may still be pushed quite a way down the list. With a lot of link directories, the regular links and the regular links with recipricol are offered for free. When I submit to directories, I always choose regular links and I only choose free ones. Listen, there is such an overwhelming number of link directories out there, that if you start paying for your submissions, you will quickly empty your bank account. There are plenty of free ones to choose from (just type free link directories into Google, and you will be amazed at the numbers). A final note here is always choose the regular link (one way) as opposed to the recipricol option. These days, search engines consider one way links to be more valuable that recipricol links (recipricol links are still OK, but they are not as good as one way links).
Link directories are ranked by Google just like any other web site. The range in page rank will be between 0 and 8. You will want to spread your submissions between all of the page rank values. This will make your links look more natural in the eyes of the search engines.
The Submission Process
There are basically three ways that you can carry out the submission process.
1. Sign in to your favorite search engine and type in "free link directories". You will get enough hits here to keep you busy with submitting for the rest of your days.
2. Purchase one of the many link directory submission software packages out there. These packages are normally semi-automated and will save you a huge amount of time.
3. You can pay someone to do the submitting for you. There are plenty of web sites that will offer to do your submissions for a fee, but be careful, as some of them are quite spammy. Make sure to do your due diligence first. You should aim to do about 200 to 300 submissions per month.
Good luck with your linking campaign. Remember the importance of using link directories as a key strategy for gaining targeted traffic to your website.

Reaching Out to Attract Inbound Links
Reaching Out to Attract Inbound Links
When you are trying to develop your backlink strategy it is important to understand the different ways to gain links to your site. The easiest way to get links to your site is by doing a link exchange.
Link exchanges are done with similar sites with both sites placing a link to the other. Link exchanges have been penalized by search engines because of heavy spam but there still benefits to doing a link exchange, so don't be afraid to try.
The best links to get our inbound one way links. These links are sometimes difficult to get because there is no exchange. It requires the other web site to link to you without you linking to them. Gaining one way links should rank near the top of your off-page optimization strategy.
In order to get one way links you have to get noticed. Getting noticed online is not a whole lot different than getting noticed off-line.
In order to get other sites to link to your site you have to provide unique original content on your site. One way to develop this content is to add a blog, Forum, or other method to regularly add content to your site. If you have a static web site it will be much more difficult to gain links.
Applying SEO techniques such as the above can bring great benefits. As an example if you are trying to optimize a site that sells vitamins. The first step would be researching highly ranked competitors. After analyzing their sites you can use their blog or forum to determine what topics are hot. Typically in these community sites hot topics will draw quite a bit of traffic and comments from readers.
One method of gaining their attention is to look at the topics on their site that are creating the most commotion. After you determine the hot topic, go to your own blog and do a review of that site. In your review concentrate on the hot topic, but don't just talk about their services. Remember you're trying to gain attention so argue about what they're missing or things they don't have. The key is you're not trying to advertise for them rather you want to establish yourself as an expert.
Many times your review via a blog will be noticed by the other site. It's not automatic, so you may have to bring it to their attention. One way to visualize this is to imagine that you're in a crowd of people and everyone is talking to each other. If you enter the conversation you must make sure to say something relevant. If you speak up and say something unrelated or meaningless people in the crowd will quickly dismiss you.
Here's the trick to this technique, when you comment about a site or bring up a controversial point they have to link to you to reply to your review. Remember to position yourself as an expert when you do this. Don't be rude or obnoxious, but make meaningful comments and reviews and you're bound to get noticed.
Most Blogs track links to the site, so rest assured that if the blogger read something that needs to be addressed by them they will comment.
Don't just leave it up to the whims of fate, after doing your review leave a comment on the site. You could excerpt a small portion of the review, just enough to draw attention and raise interest. This will serve two purposes, first it helps establish you as an expert, second you will benefit from their readers following the link in your comment to your site. The key is to do this on popular active sites. If the site doesn't have an active community, reading and commenting, you will get the benefit.
Over time this strategy will help increase traffic your site and build one way links to your site. If you do it right you'll see the numbers jump in your traffic from other readers visiting your site to get the rest of the story.

Link Popularity - Make Your Website Popular
Click Here For Free Info On Link Popularity
Link popularity is the term that is used to represent the number of websites that link back to your site. The number of such external websites is one of the most important factors that are taken into consideration by the search engines to rank your website. A higher page rank means high amount of free traffic from search engines. The greatest thing about the concept of link popularity is that it does not cost you anything. In fact, it saves you lots of money, as you do not need to spend much on marketing for your site. The search engines will do it for you for free. They will deliver your website to potential prospects. However, there are certain methods and strategies that you should follow in order to make the best use of the concept of link popularity.
Indicator Of The Quality Of Your Website
A page rank given by search engine to your site is a good indicator of how your website is popular in the online world. A higher page rank simply means there is a large number of external websites that are linking back to you. There are several methods of placing your links on different websites. For example, you can participate in forums that discuss about the same niche your website is promoting. You can share your opinion and place a link to your website along with your post. Similarly, link popularity can also be made easy by visiting relevant blogs and putting your comments for the blog post along with a link to your website. Another easy way is to distribute free articles to article directories, such as ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, and many more. You can also submit the link to website directories, such as DMOZ....read more Link Popularity - Make Your Website Popular

Making A Successful Link Exchange

One of the greatest ways to advertise as well as market your goods and services online, is to go for link exchange. It is a cost-effective way of managing online advertising and marketing, wherein you form a link bartering system with other websites to generate more hits from potential customers for your own website.
How To Build A Link Exchange And Make It Work
Here are some simple methods to build a link exchange:
Create a "Link to Us" page on your website. Other website owners should be able to link their sites to yours through this page. It will do your good if you could get creative here and come up with something more refreshing, such as "our partnership" or "link opportunity" to catch the attention of other website owners. This form of linking is reciprocal linking that helps to increase the quality and quantity of your traffic.
While marketing your website, find ways to post your web address in the right places, so as to enable people to click on it and reach your site. When you use this form of link exchange, your workload is minimized. You only have to make your information, tools, products, etc., accessible to the traffic. It is a fairly automated process....read more Making A Successful Link Exchange

Top 3 Google Linking Strategies of 2008
Top 3 Google Linking Strategies of 2008
If you're serious about getting great ranking on Google you need to be serious about linking. Of course there are lots of ways to get links so we'll focus on just the methods that are fast, low cost or free and get the best results. Here are three that can put you on top of Google in no time flat!
First let's start with getting inbound links from directories. A link from a directory gets a lot of weight from Google because they value it as a form of endorsement. You've probably used some directories yourself, like Yahoo. Or maybe you've used some without even knowing it, like The Open Directory Project (DMOZ.org) that powers many of the most popular search engines, including Google!
Each directory is different and offers different options for obtaining links to your site. Here's a rundown of how different directories will link to your site...
1.) Free Submission: Just like it sounds. No charges for inclusion. DMOZ.org is the best one and powers Google, AOL and even Yahoo Search (not Yahoo directory.) Just be sure to follow their submission guidelines and pick the most appropriate sub category possible for inclusion. This is extremely important.
2.) Paid Submissions: They charge a fee to review the submitted link and possibly list the page. You might pay a few dollars one time, a recurring annual fee or as much as the $300 that Yahoo charges for commercial site review.
3.) Reciprocal Link: These usually require you to link to the directory before they will even consider linking back.
4.) Featured Link: Your link gets a premium spot that you pay for.
5.) Featured Homepage Link: This is a featured link on the homepage. As you've probably guessed, this can get real expensive.
Yahoo is easily the most popular (and most expensive) but it's not the best. It's been my experience that a free listing with DMOZ.org is worth more than a paid listing with Yahoo. Even though Yahoo is more popular as a directory that people actually visit, DMOZ is much more popular with search engines and carries a lot of weight. A "vote" from DMOZ is a big deal indeed.
Here are the five top directories offering free listings. Some even offer inexpensive expedited listing services or featured listings:
1.) dmoz.com
2.) directoryvault.com
3.) domaining.in
4.) getlistedrightnow.com
5.) visitalink.com
There's a site that keeps an updated list of directories, but not all are free. You have to visit each to see if there is any cost. Go to http://www.topwebsitetips.com/FreeLinks-Directories.aspx and scroll down to the drop down box at the bottom of the page. Select your desired Google PR and search. If you want to avoid getting niche directories in the results, check the "General Directories Only" box after your first return set and rerun the search.
As a second option, you can also consider paying a submission service to get your site listed in the major directories. There are plenty that will do it for a reasonable fee. Just be sure they do the following three things:
1.) Manual submission only
2.) Verify that your site is not already listed
3.) Provide proof of submission (usually screen captures)
Just search Google for "directory submission service" and you'll get plenty of options. I've used http://www.seonext.com/directory-submission.html in the past with good success. They offer a "slow submission" service that makes your link building appear more natural to Google and other top search engines.
And finally, there is no better way to get quality links than from a traditional reciprocal link campaign. This can be a time consuming step without automated software, but is very important.
Here are 10 steps to a successful reciprocal linking campaign:
1.) List the keywords you want to be found for.
2.) Draft a standard letter you can use to easily customize for each site (customization tips at the end.)
3.) Run a search on Google for each keyword and jot down the URL for each match returned (not just the homepage but the URL for the actual page you want the link from, which is the one that came up in the search.)
4.) Remove any direct competitors from the list.
5.) Go back through your list and find the contact info for each site. Record this information.
6.) Create a link to each page you want to get a link from. This should be from the most appropriate page on your site, not the homepage. Do not exceed 10 outbound links per page at most. The fewer, the better.
7.) Send the customized email with the considerations outlined below.
8.) Verify their backlinks.
9.) Remove any outbound links that do not reciprocate within a month or so.
10.) Check your inbound links every couple of weeks. Make sure you are still getting the links you earned and that the people linking to you have not moved you to a less desirable page.
Reciprocal Link Email Tips:
A.) Address the email to a person by name if possible.
B.) Start with a complimentary statement about what you like on their site.
C.) Introduce yourself and your site.
D.) Lead into why you feel your site is a good, non competing match (list benefits for them and their visitors.)
E.) Mention that you have already linked to their site and hope they feel a reciprocal link will be beneficial. Provide the URL to the page you linked from.
F.) Explain why you linked from the page you did and the anchor text you used to show you understand link strategy.
G.) Request that if they link back they use one of your anchor text suggestions along with the exact URL you want them to link to.
H.) Offer to change the link anchor text of their URL if they wish.
I.) Thank them genuinely for the time and sign with your first name to make it more personal and natural.
You can do all of this manually or invest in a good piece of software to do the difficult and time consuming work for you. Many SEO professionals (myself included) use SEO Elite (http://www.seoeliteweb.com) because it finds the best link partners, automatically gets their contact info and even manages entire campaigns. It's also a link verification system and search engine rank checker so it covers all of my SEO needs nicely ($167.)
So whether you do the work by hand or invest in a time saving "instant gratification" SEO tool, the information in this article can help you to the top of Google in record time. Good luck!

Link Popularity Search - You Must Know The Whereabouts Of Your Links
Click Here For Free Info On Link Popularity Search
Link popularity search is an effective method to find out about the performance of links that are pointing to your site. In fact, many Webmasters do not like the idea of spending too much money on the marketing of their site. They are smart people and they know how to make the best use of the free ways, and still achieve the desired results in the set time frame. However, sometimes, it can be disastrous as well. The free methods are usually alluring, and a website owner usually cannot resist the desire to place backlinks on more and more websites. Sometimes, if you are not very careful, you or somebody else may place the backlinks to your site on a no-rank website. Always remember that search engine spiders usually do not like such activities, and you are very much likely to pay for the damage in such cases. While you are performing link popularity search, you should pay specific attention on finding out more about the links that are placed on such poor websites. You should get those links removed as fast as possible in order to welcome the search engine spiders again.
Prevention Is The Best Cure
It is also very important for you to understand that repairing of junk links may not be an easy task. Therefore, like with everything else, prevention is the best cure here as well. While you are trying to improve your link popularity, be very careful in your approach. You have to make sure that there are no loopholes that may generate junk links and harm the reputation of your website. At the same time, no matter how careful you are in your approach, do not forget to do link popularity search on a regular basis from time to time too...read more Link Popularity Search

Know All About Reciprocal Links And Their Usefulness
Click Here For Free Info On The Know-How Of Reciprocal Linking
Reciprocal link building can go a long way in establishing a good reputation for you in the world of internet marketing. This method of internet advertising works on the principle, ‘let us put a link on our websites for each other’.
Primarily, the point to note here is that, search engines spot reciprocal links with ease and somehow have a dislike for them. On the other hand, search engines are very fond of one way links. So obviously, the former method will not guarantee a higher page ranking as the latter method will.
The Know-How Of Reciprocal Linking
Also, it is not advisable to jump onto the bandwagon of reciprocal link building without any clues on what it is all about. You need to check the credentials of the websites with whom you plan to go for reciprocal links. At places, you might have to make the move and at some other times, other websites might send you a request for reciprocal linking with them. Do your research well to reap the maximum benefit....

6 Quick and Simple Ways to Dominate Google Rankings!
6 Quick and Simple Ways to Dominate Google Rankings!
The reason Google is the most successful search engine in the world is because they provide the best search results; pages ranked by tangible value. That tangible value is a combination of content and links, with links being the more important factor (they assume any pages linking in will only link to good content or risk their own ranking.)
Here are a few tips that will help you take full advantage of Google's love of linking...
1.) Link Deep and with Relevance
So why is deeper better and what's this about relevance? Google figured out that a link to a homepage is only good if that homepage has the information the visitor needs. If a person clicks a link for "amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe" and ends up on the home page, which has nothing of the sort, Google discounts it as a wasted link. On the other hand, if the link leads to the page containing info on the "Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe," even five levels deep, the link has huge value to the visitor and to Google.
Want some proof? You already have it if you've ever used Google's AdWords pay per click service. They will not even accept PAID links to pages that are not the most relevant for their visitors, regardless of what you are willing to pay per click. Now that's saying something!
2.) Use Absolute Links Internally
It sounds complicated but it's not. Absolute links are those with a fixed full URL. There's another kind, called "relative" links that skip the first part of the domain and remain "relative" to the file structure. Let's take a look at the difference...
Here's the absolute link to the Google Ads page from Google's homepage: "http://www.google.com/intl/en/ads/"
Here's what it might look like as a relative link: "./intl/en/ads/"
Long story short; absolute links help your SEO efforts and relative links don't.
3.) Use Keywords in Anchor Text
Use relevant keywords in your link anchor text (that is the text within the hyperlink.) Forget about "Click Here" like you see on so many sites. Not only does that not help your ranking, it actually lowers the relevancy of your real keywords because Google believes that if a word is important enough it will likely be used as part of a link to get the visitor where they want to go.
4.) Follow the 1% Solution
Make no more than 1% of your page text into links (both outbound and internal.) That is, if you have 500 words on the page there should be no more than 5 text links total. And don't overuse the same keyword text for the links. So if you have three mentions each of three different keywords, try to use each just once in a link. Then use similar text for any remaining links.
Example: If "chocolate chip cookies" is your main keyword phrase you might use "chocolate chip cookies" as the anchor text for one link and then "my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe" for another link.
It's also a good idea to use 10 Links Max per page whether you have 1,000 words or 10,000 words on that page.
5.) Add a Link Failsafe
This is really simple and almost nobody does it. Links get broken more often than we like. Sometimes it's because we moved a page and sometimes it has nothing to do with anything we consciously did (especially with blogs.) The solution is to create a custom 404 page (Page Not Found) that looks just like any other page on your site and has a simple note like "We're sorry we cannot find the page you are looking for. However, if you love cookies of all kinds we think you'll find exactly what you want by clicking on one of the following links..." Then of course you have a navigation system for them to follow.
6.) Get the Best Links Possible
This is extremely important yet often overlooked because it can be such a difficult and time consuming job. If you take nothing else away from this article, please take this... Finding the best possible inbound links is the single most important thing you can do to make the number one spot on Google.
Here are three tips to help minimize your time and effort while giving you results SEO experts charge an arm and a leg for.
A.) Get listed in directories.
Submit your site to the top directories like Jayde.com and DMOZ.org. Once they link to your site you will have great relevant inbound links and some instant credibility with Google.
Here are some great free directories in order of value, starting with the best... dmoz.org, jayde.com, webworldindex.com, turnpike.net, and directoryvault.com. Yahoo is important but charges $299 for commercial site inclusion.
B.) Use "Special Commands" to do the legwork for you.
The best linked sites can easily be found with a simple search command called "allinanchor:" Here's how to use it. Go to Google and type in "allinanchor:keyword goes here" (no quotes and no space after the colon.) Now hit Enter and you'll see the sites that have the highest relevancy for keywords used in anchor text. Look for any that you know are competitors and outrank your site.
Now take the URL for any of these and use this command "link:www.theirdomain.extension" (again with no quotes and no space after the colon.) This will show you all the sites linking in as well as internal pages linking back in.
In short, these two special commands give you an inside look at exactly how the competition does what it does with the results they get. This is huge!
C.) Use good SEO software whenever possible.
If you can afford to spend one or two hundred dollars to save huge amounts of time and get professional results, it's well worth it. Like many SEO professionals whose livelihood depends on results, I've been using SEO software to get top search engine placement for years. The best ones not only help you identify great link partners but will even help you contact them and make sure they don't cheat you in any way. I use SEO Elite (http://www.seoeliteweb.com/) and am still amazed by all it can do.
If possible, get a tool that also does rank checking and reporting. Once you begin you'll want to check rankings every so often and an automated tool will save you a ton of time. Oddly enough I bought SEO Elite primarily for rank checking then discovered it was worth its weight in gold as linking tool as well. So whatever tool you use, get as much out of it as you can. You might be pleasantly surprised.
